Libya : many wars, different goals

TRIPOLI / BENGHAZI - Libyan leader Mouammar Gadhafi has promised (again) on tuesday that he will keep on fighting for his land, much to the frustration of the rebels who are still waiting for more logistic and military support.
The rebels' advance has been slowed down over the past couple of weeks. Big cities like Brega, Zliten and Assaba are not as easy as they thought.
In the meantime, the international community is facing staunch criticism for its intervention in the embattled country.
Gadhafi's strenght may not only be in the amount of weapons and men that fight for him.
Everybody was wondering why did International community decide to intervene militarily in Libya? Why not in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen or even... Syria.
Well.... last time we checked Libya was still at the top of the chain in Oil production. Unfortunately, the same thing cannot be said about poor Egypt or Syria. Which is why the American and French ambassadors are still lurking in Damascus.
Qatar on the otherhand, is the biggest investor in Syria. Their ambassador left the country along with all his diplomats several days ago.
So while NATO wants the oil, rebels want freedom and Gadhafi... well he still wants everything.
He's been saying this over and over again in his speeches. He's even been singing and dancing on his own youtube speeches turn dance hits.
But the rebels are confused. In Misrata, they want their land, they want to live in peace. In Benghazi they are fighting for international recognition, for "democracy", for rights... for oil.
Could the end of this uprising only be the end of a chapter in this crazy civil war?
