As Ye Sow, So Shall Ye Reap

OSLO - The twin attacks that devastated Norway last week are proof of how terrorism has affected societies all over the world, in the last decade.
Moments after the blast and the shootings, little where the people who had any doubt about the identity of the culprits. Everybody pictured dark bearded men, wearing traditional clothing and opening fire on innocent white men, women and children.
Even Al Qaeda itself was congratulating its "soon to be announced" members who carried out their "Jihad"
This time, for the first time, it was not the case.
But then again, the stated motives of the suspect, identified by local media as Anders Behring Breivik, are a direct result of terrorism, and the propaganda of this culture of hate.
In his manifesto Breivik, a young white christian man says his motive was to eradicate Islam.
Without delving in the details of his writings, it is easy to understand that this man was deeply disturbed by the culture and propaganda of terrorist organisations such as Al Qaeda.
The mere existence of organisations with objectives such as the one he stated show that Al Qaeda has accomplished the one objective nobody wanted it to: creating a rival ideology. An organisation with the same culture, except it is christian.
It does somehow feel like, we are going back to the crusader era.
In fact, ever since Al Qaeda was created, they refer to europeans, americans and christians in general as "The crusaders".
If killing Ossama Ben Laden was a "victory" for some, it seems as though it is the start of a really dark era for the rest of us...
